With some amazing features, including original tiled floors, lovely staircase and a really homely feel, Cherry House owner Simon averages a shoot at his house every other month.
“Sometimes it’s just a half a day photo shoot, where the crew arrives, shoots and leaves in no time. Other days it can be pretty hectic.”
“A director may choose us because of a particular feature of the house, so there's not much prep at all. Some larger productions completely change the space and that can be quite chaotic. But my family and I make ourselves scarce and at the end of the shoot everything is pretty much back where it started.”
“Fresh are really friendly, efficient and accommodating. They take care of all the negotiations and I always know what to expect.”
Simon’s tip for those thinking of making their property a location is to plan for early starts and late nights, especially on a big budget shoot.
“My favourite shoot was the John Lewis advert. It used lots of the rooms in the house which made for early starts and late finishes on set. But you get paid well, and when the result is such an amazing advert filmed in my living room, it makes me proud to have played a small part in it.”
